Listen to one of Prof. Brian Cox's fascinating talks on the universe and his current innovative projects throughout the world. The evening will start with pre-event drinks on Level39 and then move onto the talk; which will conclude with a Q&A session. After the talk there will be drinks available for you to mingle and discuss the session.

Come to Level39, Europe's largest technology accelerator space for finance, retail and future cities technologies on the evening of August 27 to meet Professor Brian Cox OBE. Brian will share some of his experiences, from appearing with the Monty Python team at the O2 to traveling the globe making documentaries. Brian will provide a fascinating insight into his work at the Large Hadron Collider and address the critical need for more engineers and scientists in the UK.

This is an issue Brian cares passionately about and is why he hosts the St Paul’s Way Trust Science Summer School, which will take place immediately after the event, and is, located just a few hundred metres to the north of Canary Wharf, but in a very different community. The proceeds for ticket sales will go toward to the costs of running this unique and innovative annual event.

The Science Summer School consists of TED style seminars, discussions, hands-on experiments and networking opportunities designed to inspire and encourage young people from over 30 schools in Tower Hamlets and surrounding boroughs, alongside some of Britain’s most successful scientists. This builds on the amazing work at St Paul's Way Trust School, where over the last seven years, they have transformed from almost being shut down to now having 48% of A level students have applied for STEM degree courses and 100% of this group received offers from Russell Group Universities.

The Science Summer School is hoping to expand its reach in order to offer a wider range of students the chance to attend this fun and educational event especially within disadvantaged areas that don't often have options like this. The School is also hoping to open a bursary fund for those that have the academic ability but lack financal support to attend university.

Professor Brian Cox OBE is a particle physicist, a Royal Society research fellow, and a professor at the University of Manchester. He is a researcher on one of the most ambitious experiments on Earth, the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider in Europe. Brian is best known to the public as a science broadcaster and presenter of the highly popular SBS and BBC series Wonders of the Solar System. He was also the keyboard player in the UK pop band D: Ream in the 1990s @ProfBrianCox

The event is being organised by Andrew Mawson Partnerships and Carbon Voyage, and proudly supported by Canary Wharf Group, Level39, Catlin, ELBA and Tesco.
