Great British Barnes Bake Off

Ovens on and baking trays at the ready as The White Hart gears up for the second Great British Barnes Bake Off on Saturday 13th September. Get set to whisk up some treats in the annual Bake Off challenge, in partnership with local charity, St Christopher’s Fellowship.

Award winning pâtissier and international baking star, Eric Lanlard together with a panel of Young’s judges will sample each of the contestants’ creations before crowning the winners of 2014.

Whether you think you have the moistest sponge, the fluffiest cupcakes or the crustiest bread, with ten categories and at just £2 per entry, you will have multiple chances of winning one of the coveted titles. Themes include: Victoria Sponge, Cupcake Creations, Tempting Traybake, Loaf Cake, Perfect Pastry, Bread, Biscuits and finally the Barnes Beauty.

To encourage baking with youngsters, The White Hart will also be challenging juniors aged 7-11 and 12-16 to put their youthful imagination into baking action.

Starting at 10am and free to attend, cake fans can flock to the quintessentially British pub to sample the entries for themselves. Surrounded by bunting and with spectacular views over the Thames, whether you prefer your cake dense and decadent or moist and fluffy, you are sure to find your perfect bake in Barnes.
