A monthly live score night up in Hackney Attic. The Turbans will be performing a brand new live score for GRASS, colouring a journey of strife and hardships through the wilderness of Persia.

A monthly live score and audio visual night up in Hackney Attic. To celebrate the incredible relationship between live music and the moving image. This month, gypsy klezmer band The Turbans will be performing a brand new live score for GRASS, colouring a journey of strife and hardships through the wilderness of Persia.

Grass: A Nation's Battle for Life (1925) is a silent documentary film which follows a branch of the Bakhtiari tribe of Persia as they and their herds make their seasonal journey to better pastures. It is considered one of the earliest ethnographic documentary films. The Turbans will create an emotive live score, pulling you along on their journey...

The Turbans are an international musical collective bringing together exciting music from traditional eastern-European styles and their own compositions, to create a modern and energetic performance with reverence for its ancient roots. Mixing multi-genre instrumentals and vocal excellence, The Turbans heat up the room with their vibrant spontaneity and authenticity.

Filmphonics; a series of live score screenings that bridge the gap between sound and moving image, curating diverse nights that include silent films brought to life by live scores, special screenings of films about music, experimental collaborations and edgy live performances.

Doors 7.30, show 8pm.
