Candoco: Playing Another

Candoco Dance Company, the contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, is twisting perceptions of what dance is, who can dance and who enjoys it in this double bill of two full-company works.

Thomas Hauert’s new piece Notturnino is a playful and poignant work inspired by a documentary about retired opera singers living in a nursing home. Acclaimed visual artist Hetain Patel premieres a humorous and intimate new work building on an exploration of the personalities and physicalities of the dancers, interrogating questions of identity, challenging us to think beyond surface appearance.
