Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Fr13nds to tour England, 30 Sept-10 October and preview new album at music club performances

Dates confirmed in St. Albans, Chester, York, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, London, Guildford, Reading and Birmingham

Reeves Gabrels, long-time artistic partner of David Bowie and The Cure's current lead guitarist, brings his power trio, Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Fr13nds, from Nashville to England to play in small venues starting on September 30. Lovers of superb songs, stellar musicianship and fearless improvisation will all want to see and hear Reeves and friends in action.

The band's live sets will include songs from their forthcoming album, also titled Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Fr13nds, which is to be released digitally just as they head home on October 13. These include the biting Drown You Out and the spooky House of Usher which draws its title from an Edgar Allan Poe story included in 1840 in a collection of Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. Oddly enough, since Poe is an American Gothic touchstone, Gabrels wrote the song long before he joined The Cure in 2012. Uncommon interpretations of Bo Diddley's early rocker Who Do You Love and Jimmy Reed's blues Bright Lights, Big City are also on the album and set list. Full information on the album including pre-order details will be available on the date of the first performance, September 30.??If you are not familiar with the music Reeve's Gabrels has made under his own name, you may want to check out earlier albums, while fans will be well pleased that the trio will play songs from Sacred Squall of Now (1995), Ulysses (1999) and Rockonica (2005). Last but not least for English audiences, selected co-writes are also in the band repertoire including Tin Machine's Bus Stop (Bowie or Gabrels) and Yesterday's Gone (Gabrels or Smith).
