Japanese Fashion Popup on King's Road

Collectionaires is the UK’s only specialist retailer of luxury Japanese designer women’s clothing. Throughout August, Collectionaires will be running their own POPUP store in Upper Street, Islington, featuring a selection of clothing and accessories from numerous top Japanese designers as well as a selection of 'guest designers' from the UK, selected specifically for the popup.

- What do Collectionaires sell? -
Collectionaires’ philosophy is 'ALWAYS BE DIFFERENT' (inspired by a quote from the legendary Coco Chanel). So they act as a boutique curator, selecting the finest designs from over twenty leading Japanese designers, to offer a very exclusive range to their customers. Whilst major brands promote the 'rarity' of designs selling only 500 or 1000, Collectionaires offers true exclusivity with items typically limited to only 3 or 4 of each.

Each style is individually selected, with an emphasis on designs that strike a balance between being distinctive and a little unusual, whilst still feeling comfortable and practical to wear. Of course the traditional Japanese attention to detail and exceptional quality is always present.

- Who are the designers? -
Collectionaires designers range from long-established names, to some of the brightest up-and-coming designers straight out of Tokyo’s world-famous Bunka fashion incubators. All are carried by some of Tokyo's most luxurious department stores or specialist boutiques and many of them feature in the Tokyo Fashion Week catwalk programme, or even show in Paris and other fashion centres. In all cases, Collectionaires is the exclusive UK retailer for these designers. The designers include:

- What will be in the popup? -
As well as over 100 designs from Collectionaires' Summer/Autumn and core collections, an additional 100 or so new designs will be added during the month, as they arrive from Tokyo.

Collectionaires are also inviting a variety of smaller UK-based guest designer brands into the shop for a week or two each. These include Newcastle-based leather bag designer Kuku Big Bags, London-based clothing designer Anna Popovich and luxury jeweler Monartti.

So it will be well worth visiting the popup more than once (or following Collectionaires twitter feed) to make sure you don’t miss out.
