Next week Phileas Fogg will be returning to his London residence in order to peruse the arts and antiquities of LAPADA and also visit the Country Life Fair, just down the round in Fulham. To get himself back into the quintessentially British swing of things, on Tuesday 23rd September, following on from the LAPADA private view, Phileas will then of course be hosting one of his infamous evening soirées, at his humble abode just around the corner from the fair, on Bruton Lane.

The evening will welcome art enthusiasts and culture vultures alike, giving them the chance to rest their weary feet, after an afternoon of admiring antiques (which they can continue to do so on Mr Fogg’s well adorned drawing room walls), whilst enjoying a spot of entertainment from The Top Shelf Band Bistrotet.

To get people truly in the spirit, or on the spirits so to speak, Mr Fogg’s household staff have partnered with their dear old friends from the Albion Racing Club, who will be supplying a simply sublime selection of luxurious libations.

However, if you are unable to attend the evening then fear not, as Mr Fogg will also be running a bar, for the duration of the week at both fairs, dates as per below. A very busy gentleman he is indeed this month...

THE COUNTRY LIFE FAIR
Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September 2014

LAPADA ARTS & ANTIQUES FAIR
Tuesday 23rd to Sunday 28th September 2014

Mr Fogg's is a recreation of the Victorian home of Jules Verne's most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg. Modelled on the very Mayfair house in which Phileas would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days, the bar is refined but at the same time truly off-the-wall, breathing liveliness and fun into the area. It is the first West End project from Inception Group, whose founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling have also created Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80's themed nightclub, Maggie's, the acclaimed Bunga Bunga, an Englishman's Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke venue, and most recently Disco, an underground boite in Soho based on the disco movement that took place in 1970s Manhattan. This spring they have just launched Cocobananas, a nightclub based on a Brazilian beach party and will be launching Beaver Lodge, a mountain bar and dance saloon based on the winter cowboy log cabins found in Wyoming, this winter.

In the words of our good friends at Albion Racing Club...
On the 23rd September; "We raise a glass to determination, unity and the British spirit of adventure, whilst not forgetting that the best adventures, be they contests or capers, start and finish in the bar..."
