Rodrigo Branco Solo Exhibition

Ben Oakley Gallery is proud to present Brazilian street artist Rodrigo Branco for his first solo exhibition in the UK. After spending some time in Deptford & Greenwich we are glad to be able to bring you a series of unique paintings produced especially for the gallery.

Brancos’ paintings on the street are dominated by huge vibrant portraits, abstracted with bold strokes and marks, some covering entire building facades. These huge portrait works on the street are full of character colour and depth. Each painting is made up of multiple layers that are often over painted in sections to convey the right emotion and finish. High up on the sides of buildings they stare across towns and streets bringing a smile to the viewer with the clever use of colour and intense expression. The Exhibition canvas work incorporates the same strong feeling but Branco allows himself more time for detail that really brings the paintings to life.

The Water Melon is often seen in Rodrigos work which is a nod to his grandparents who still run a Water Melon Farm in Sao Paulo Brazil where he also lives.
