This is a unique evening, that sees three brilliant guitarists of differing generations united on the 606 stage. Led by highly accomplished guitarist, singer and songwriter, Alan Darby, tonight's gig aims to explore the early electric guitar traditions of jazz and blues, through seductive counterpoint riffing and exciting harmonic exploration. Alan himself is one of the UK’s most respected players, having performed, written and toured with some of the international music scene’s true greats, including the likes of Van Morrison, Sting, Robert Palmer, Bonnie Tyler, Eric Clapton…. And as well as a busy touring and studio player, he was also until very recently the guitarist in the massively popular West End musical "We Will Rock You". Jake Zaitz is a well established guitarist who includes work with the likes of Mick Jagger and is probably best known at the Club for his many performances here with the iconic blues singer Dana Gillespie (Sun 5th), although tonight he will be wearing more of his “jazz hat”. Making up the third member of the three-guitar front line will be the extremely talented Artie Zaitz (Pee Wee Ellis, Gary Crosby) who is also, as it happens, Jake’s son! All highly accomplished players in their own right they have almost 100 years of jazz guitar experience between them. The evening wouldn't be complete, of course, without the solid foundation of an excellent rhythm in the form of Matt Round (James Morrison) on bass and Evan Jenkins (Eric Clapton) on drums. Jazz and blues fans and jazz guitar enthusiasts in particular should really not miss out on this terrific evening’s entertainment!

“The 3-guitar interplay turns this combo into a mini orchestra… The guitar players also sing, and the material combines songs with instrumental interplay. It's both an emotional and fun listening experience.” Eventful
