LANDS END are a diverse group of young musicians who crossed paths in 2012 at the UK’s premier bluegrass workshop, Sore Fingers, which is held annually in Oxfordshire. Originally formed for a one-off show, the band made such an impact in their first performance they couldn’t possibly stop there! Over the past two and a half years they have enthused audiences in Ireland, England and Germany, recorded their debut EP "The Border Sessions" and have established Lands End as one of the top bluegrass acts on the British Isles. They will bring high energy bluegrass to The Harrison!

Paddy Kiernan (banjo):
Paddy’s banjo playing seamlessly blends Bluegrass and Irish traditional music with blues, jazz and world music. Ask him to demonstrate the banjo styles of Earl Scruggs, Don Reno, Bill Keith or Bela Fleck and he’ll do it just as effortlessly as he plays 1920s jazz standards or Irish and Celtic music. Paddy can play it all, but he always makes sure that something new and unique emerges from his vast influences. After years of teaching four and five string banjo in one of Ireland’s largest private music schools, Walton’s School of Music in Dublin, he has recently completed a Masters Degree in Traditional Irish Music Performance at the University of Limerick.

Sam Rose (double bass):
Sam was raised near Britain’s Bluegrass capital Helsby under tutelage from Stuart and Russ Williams. At only 20 years old, he has already been gigging regularly for many years and is currently studying Guitar Performance (BMus) at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London.

Bruno Pichler (dobro):
Having studied the dobro with world renowned artists such as Sally Van Meter, Andy Hall, Michael Witcher, Jimmy Heffernan, Orville Johnson and many others, Bruno has become a force to be reckoned with on this obscure American instrument. He is a regular at bluegrass events in England (eg. Didmarton, Cornwall, Orwell, Sore Fingers) and the USA (eg. Rockygrass, ResoSummit) and has competed in the prestigious Rockygrass Dobro Competition, where he took 3rd place in 2013 and 2nd place in 2014.

Hubert Murray (guitar & vocals)
Throughout his teenage years, Hubert Murray, a.k.a. Blindboy Murray, developed his voice by playing to raucous crowds on the pub circuit in Galway, Ireland. The result is a soulful singing style that is full of raw energy, accompanied by his guitar skills that range from delicate fingerpicking to slide guitar to shredding solos. Hubert plays regularly in and around London, either as a solo folk and blues singer/songwriter, or with his band The Hot Rock Pilgrims.

Over the past few months LANDS END have entertained the masses in Dublin, Roscommon, Galway and Waterford, but this is their one and only UK gig this year, so don't miss this rare opportunity to catch LANDS END in Central London!
