The King’s Arts & Humanities Festival is back for a sixth year, offering dozens of free talks, workshops and performances exploring music, literature, philosophy, politics, history and religion and much more.

From 15 - 24 October, this year’s programme digs deep into the theme of the underground: a concept which has fascinated the human mind for centuries. From the ruins of Roman London to the bunkers of the Blitz; from underground dance music to radical opera.

Antony Beevor and Andrew Graham-Dixon will join pioneering biographer Dr Lara Feigel to uncover the history of sheltering during the Blitz in London and consider its representation in art. Author, IT Crowd actor and celebrated director Richard Ayoade will speak about his experience directing critically acclaimed film The Double. Comedian and activist Rob Newman presents his New Theory of Evolution fresh from the Edinburgh Festival. Poet and theologian Dr Rowan Williams will discuss excerpts from the four gospels with King’s Poetry Fellow Dr Ruth Padel with musical accompaniment from the Endellion String Quartet.
