An evening of film, games, music, DJs, special guests and entertainment celebrating the VOD launch of Drunken Butterflies, the new teen reality movie from Newcastle.
DRUNKEN BUTTERFLIES melds ‘scripted reality’ TV techniques, documentary interviews, traditional narrative film and internet influence. Today, eight Byker teens are headed to town on a collision course, all fights, attention, tears and takedowns building towards the Saturday night party to end them all.
Called "a reality caper to outdo Geordie Shore" by the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, and drawing comparisons to Mean Girls, The Warriors and Dario Argento, DRUNKEN BUTTERFLIES is a teen movie that wears its heart on its sleeve, our eight characters catching their first glimpses of the reality beyond their social scene and realising it’s not exactly fair. Summer is passing and the nights are getting longer, but then all the most interesting things in life happen at night.
Film Running time - 89 minutes.
