George Szirtes, born in Budapest, came to the UK as a child in 1956. His distinction as a poet has been recognised in the continung series of awards of which he has been recipient.
He has often worked collaboratively with his artist wife, Clarissa Upchurch, and occasionally with his son, Tom, who works with live and pre-recorded music. Childhood drawings by his daughter, Helen, provided inspiration for collections of children's poems. Helen is now a writer and editor.
George, Clarissa, Tom and Helen will talk about their interaction, giving a glimpse of the inner workings of a family sharing their considerable talents as well as fulfilling their Individual creativity.
George will also announce the results of the Ealing Autumn Festival Poetry Competition Constellations and winners will be invited to read their poems.
