To celebrates the area’s rich cultural heritage, famous for its great thinkers and drinkers and home to more pubs per square foot than anywhere else in the world, Midtown revellers, for two nights only (4th & 12th November), can take part - for free - in an unforgettable theatrical experience. Four Midtown pubs, including some of the oldest establishments in London, will be transformed into notorious drinking dens of the past, enabling visitors to step back in time and spend the evening swigging from tankards and listening to tales of olde alongside some of Midtown’s most famous historical characters from Oliver Cromwell to Dick Turpin.

The Pub trail will include ….
The Old Red Lion on High Holborn Road, famous for housing the dead bodies of Oliver Cromwell, John Bradshaw and Sir Henry Ireton; The White Hart on Drury Lane, said to be the first and oldest licensed premise in London and a legendary watering hole for London’s notorious highwaymen and rogues, including Dick Turpin; The Ship Tavern on the Western corner of Lincolns Inns Fields, used by Roman Catholic Priests in the late 16th Century to hold secret illegal Masses; and lastly The Enterprise on Red Lion Street a favourite haunt of the legendary Noel Coward and the Bloomsbury Set in the 1930s… Midtown revellers need to be prepared to be surprised by more mysterious happenings along the way …

Tickets are free but limited so book well in advance through the website
