‘Sam’s Vision - A SMart Way Of Life’

Sam’s Vision - A SMart Way of Life is an art exhibition running from 3rd November - 31st December 2014 at the elite Seven Dials Club in London.

The event marks the beginning of a collaborative venture between SMart Network and Sam Says Enjoy Life; a non-profit creative collective with a mission to promote equality and ethnicity through its art and fashion brand. Sam Say’s is the sister project to the Sam and Ruby Charity, which raised $150,000 in 2005 to aid the rebuilding of schools and educational resources in Thailand post Tsunami.

The exhibition is memory of Sam Archer and her daughter Ruby who sadly lost their lives in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami and marks the 10th anniversary of the tragedy. Sam was a devoted friend and French booking agent to Kate Moss at the height of super model stardom in the 90’s and was the inspiration for the Sam Say’s Enjoy Life project founded by Nathalie Archer in 2012.

A private view will be held on Wednesday 12th November raising funds for UK based registered charity SMart Network dedicated to empowering homeless and socially excluded people through creative activity and to engage them and the wider community in finding pathways to social inclusion. A choice selection of artwork including a valuable piece from graffiti artist James Cochran, well known for his pointillist painting style will be auctioned along with a limited edition golf bag donated by the famous golfer Jack Nicklaus.

Sam’s Vision 2014 will show commissioned artwork from well-known artists including Spanish painter and designer Javier Mariscal and model come artist Carla Bruni portraying their own perspective of Sam. The evening will feature a short film showing an historical moment in fashion including exclusive freeze frame images from behind the scenes video footage at high profile fashion shows of the late nineties showing intimate stills of supermodels Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Esther de Jong, Carl Bruni, and Claudia Schiffer taken by Sam herself

The money raised at the private view will be donated to SMart Network to cover basic running costs of its projects. This includes the quarterly publication ‘SMart Magazine’ and funding to secure permanent premises providing gallery and workshop space for homeless and socially marginalised people to exhibit their work, as well as provide regular creative activities for them.
