How is your creative work visually presented? On a website, social media, blog, newsletter, portfolio, catalogue, poster, postcard, business card – the options are many. Have you thought how important it is to have a cohesive visual identity across the different platforms on which your work can be seen? That your presentation looks professional and clearly communicates your work and your practise?
SAF is organising a small group 2-hour long workshop for creatives on Tuesday 25th November 2014 at 6.30pm-8.30pm in Bermondsey.

This workshop looks on how to arrange your

• Visual Identity
• Artist Statements
• Portfolios
• Websites & Domains
• With some examples of how not to present your work

The participants are welcome to bring one example of their visual “look” along to the session for an instant, personal feedback.

This session is run by Renée Pfister – a consultant, curator, registrar and business manager with a longstanding career in the museums and art world. She was part of the curatorial team at the British Museum where she was involved in realizing major projects such as the Great Court and the Weston Gallery of Roman Britain. At the Tate Gallery she worked as a Registrar from 1999 to 2005, and was responsible for managing acquisitions and ground-breaking international programme exhibitions from the Tate’s Collection. She also participated in a Registrars’ exchange programme at the Museum of Modern Art, New York and wrote a chapter for the Routledge publication: ‘Understanding International Art Markets and Management’.

In 2006 she joined Gander & White, an international fine art transportation company, as Associate Director for Museums & Galleries, where she was the key person in business development and client management. She returned to the public sector in 2009 and was employed at the Science Museum as Collections’ Manager, in charge of approximately 200,000 objects and the Collections’ Management Team. She became an exhibition advisor to Sir Anthony Caro in 2010 and opened her own Art & Gallery Consultancy in London. Since then she is advising private and corporate collectors, works with British and international artists and various museums worldwide. She also acts as Course Leader and Tutor at City University, Lancaster University and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.
