Chicago-based Hannah Gamble and Edinburgh-based Alan Gillis read live on air, hosted by The Poetry Society.
The Poetry Society, the UK's 4,000-member poetry organisation, is hosting this month's Transatlantic Poetry on Air reading on October 22nd at 8PM UK time. Edward Doegar, General Manager of the Society, will compere the event.
Hannah Gamble, a Poetry Foundation Lilly/Rosenberg fellow, will join us from Chicago. Alan Gillis, recently announced as one of the Poetry Book Society's Next Generation Poets of 2014, will join us from Edinburgh. Both poets' work appears in the current issue of The Poetry Review.
Using a technology called Google+ Hangouts On Air, poets read using a webcam and microphone connected to their computers at home. Participants tune in from anywhere in the world to watch and ask questions via a live YouTube feed.
The event is free and open to all.
