Frequencies – Tune into Life, sees musicians, artists, young people and academics work together to explore the rhythms of our lives – from the movement of cells in our blood stream to fertilisation and birth – and use these cycles to create sound installations and performance pieces staged across King’s and beyond.
As one of the nine collaborations, musician Bishi worked with Paul Gringas, Professor of Paediatric Sleep Medicine, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust, and a group of young people to look at sleep cycles.
Bishi will be performing the resulting sound piece, ‘In Sleep’, live. Doors to the chapel will open half an hour before each of Bishi’s performances, for a sound installation created from her brainwave activity while asleep at the Children’s Sleep Medicine Department, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
The performances are part of the pre-opening activity for Science Gallery London – a new space set to open on the Guy’s campus in 2016 where science and art collide.
