Musicians of All Saints’ Church in Isleworth are staging a unique and moving event, “Many the Brave”, commemorating the Great War. The evening will be largely dedicated to the young composers and poets who were artistically inspired by their first-hand experiences of war. Many of these young men paid the ultimate price, but live on through their work. Complemented by historical commentary and images, the commemoration will include music by Butterworth, Gurney and Bressey, with additional music by Albinoni and Haydn; as well recitations of poetry and thought-provoking testimonials of war. The concert, which is to be held at All Saints’ Church in Church St, Isleworth, includes the participation of many talented musicians from Isleworth and is free to the public. There will be a voluntary collection at the end of the concert, which will be donated to a war-related charity. Refreshments are provided after the concert.
