This A Cappella Workshop is an exploration of vocal sounds with a holistic approach. Mind, body and soul working together to create harmonies, blending and layering until the group becomes a unit, fusing voices together with ample room for improvisation.

The 3 hour workshop includes:
Vocal Technique
Warm Ups
A Cappella Repertoire of Various Styles
Rhythmic Games
Improvisation

Super for:
Singers of all levels
Musicians
Actors
(Anyone interested in music or acting!)
Songwriters

Intertwined with the vocal work will be theatre exercises that encourage creativity, ensemble-building and the devising of original material.

Participants will learn games and methods that they can carry into all areas of performing arts, teaching and writing. They will come away with new ideas, great icebreakers and powerful theatrical tools, knowing how to invigorate or relax a group while promoting a positive sharing experience.

A vocal workshop with a twist!

About Desta Haile:

As Ensemble Leader for the International School Theatre Association, Desta has designed and delivered theatre and music workshops for people at festivals around the world since 2004.

She also worked as International Intern at Augusto Boal's Centre of the Theatre of The Oppressed, in Rio de Janeiro, learning how theatre can be used as a powerful tool for social and political change.

Desta's musical CV is eclectic: she has shared stages and/or studios with Zap Mama, Michael Bublé, Baloji, Joe Bataan, Finley Quaye, Pablo Andres, Sir Samuel, Hadise, Mylène Farmer, Lara Fabian, and Manou Gallo as a vocalist, plus Andrew Ashong as bassist and vocalist.
