Brazil: the home of the carnival and a hot-bed of political protest, a land of natural beauty with a history of brutality.
Theatre503 and CAL Arts present a festival of plays, talks and performance from the sensual heartland of Latin America. Erupting from a diverse cultural heritage, these vibrant and often violent stories, a blend of religion, sexuality and politics will showcase the work of a many playwrights, both new and established, that have never been seen outside of their homeland.
Two shows will play on alternate nights between Tue Oct 28 and Sat Nov 1 (with both shows on Sat 1 Nov)
Please note that the £10/£8 ticket entitles you to see ALL of Show 1 or Show 2.
To complement these evenings there will be a surrounding programme of talks and discussions from a host of writers, directors and academics including a Brazilian Theatre and New Writing Symposium, making this a true festival of the cultural voices of Brazil.
