World Première of The Moment and Discussion with Award-Winning Dancer Salah El Brogy at The Tabernacle, Notting Hill

Salah El Brogy Company presents the world première of The Moment. This new dance solo by Egyptian performer/choreographer Salah El Brogy’s explores the state of mind in being able to understand beyond the obvious, in being able to interpret the daily messages we receive dreams, images and situations, as well as the state of mind after that moment of understanding. This is a contemporary dance piece filled with high octane energy and an exploration of a spiritual journey.

Salah El Brogy Company was set up by dancer/ choreographer Salah El Brogy and producer Mars El Brogy. Salah, ex-soloist for Cairo Opera House Contemporary Dance Theatre and former lead dancer for Akram Khan Company’s Vertical Road, was involved in last years Nour Festival of Arts, with his solo Hurriyah – a collaboration with British calligrapher Soraya Syed and acclaimed musician Nitin Sawhney.

A post-show talk with Salah follows the last performance.

Salah El Brogy said:

"It's such a privilege to be part of the Nour Festival family. This year is even more special for me than my collaboration with them last year, as it is the world première of my full length solo, which is based on my personal spiritual journey. Coming from an Islamic and Sufism background, I want to share with the audiences that journey and hopefully this piece will spark something in them to think of their moments too.”

Salah El Brogy, ex-soloist for Cairo Opera House Contemporary Dance Theatre was former lead dancer for Akram Khan Company’s Verticle Road and performed as part of last year’s Nour Festival of Arts with Hurriyah, a collaboration with British art calligrapher Soraya Syed, and with music by the acclaimed musician and composer Nitin Sawhney.
A post-show talk with Salah will also follow the performance.
