The Crick Crack Club's 2014 'Fairytales for Grownups' season continues with The King and the Corpse, an 11th century cycle of Northern Indian tales brought to the contemporary stage by two core members of world music collective Transglobal Underground.

In a rich collaboration of music and charismatic delivery, The Unprecedented Unorthodox Preacher (TUUP) and sitar virtuoso Sheema Mukherjejee reveal the story of a King and his eventful encounter with a corpse possessed by a riddle-mongering spirit. Night after night, the King is forced to solve a new riddle. With each new riddle, the King - with a little help from the audience - discovers what he knows, what he cannot know, and plenty more besides.

Previous venues for this acclaimed show include Soho Theatre, Rich Mix, and Northern Stage, as well as festivals and clubs throughout the UK.
