Part of A Season of Bangla Drama.

Life has its emotions and so does storytelling - may it be seduction or disgust. South Asian Bangla Arts and dance have always been based on nine emotions that the roller coaster of life takes you on. Excerpt of Shyama, Chandalika, Chitrangada, Notir Puja, Post, Office, Rokto Korobi, Chiro Kumar Sabha, Tasher Desh and the Spin chilling Khutito Pashan exemplifies this beautiful form of storytelling that is Dance Drama and compiled for the first time ever in this format in the WEST.

Post Office (Sadness) - Nothing lasts forever. Yet it is so hard to learn that lesson. How does a soul carry that experience? It is through compassion and belief in eternal life. Everyone and everything is forever changing and attachment is only momentary.

Chitrangada (Courage) - Mind and body is the sword and shield of the soul. Fight with courage not arrogance, win for valour not vanity and most importantly know that there is a greater cause than just the achievement of a single warrior.

Notir Puja (Peace) - The one who has nothing is the one who has so much. They have divested themselves of all attachments. Owe nothing and own nothing. Is this how peace can be attained?

Chandalika (Disgust) - The cloak of darkness is separated by one poisonous word, a withering look, an envious touch. All that is pure, good and noble will dissipate. The soul is dulled beyond recognition. All will be lost without salvation.

Rokto Korobi (Anger) - The hand of power and might catches and crushes the fresh bloom of hope. Each drop of the blood coloured pulp burns a hole into humanity. Nothing lasts forever, not even fire.

Tasher Desh (Wonder) - Who experiences the out-of-the-ordinary? It is the one with the open heart and open mind. As wonder spreads in the mind ignorance diminishes. When the mind is free anything is possible.

Kudito Pashan (Fear) - The strongest fear is the fear of death. The mind can turn the unknown into a fearful state with the help of the weak ego.
