Secret underground laboratory - participants will be met by The Schoolkeeper on St James Walk, Clerkenwell

Deep underground in London, Lottolab present The Experiment - an immersive neuroscience research experience, where science meets cabaret meets you.

The Experiment merges TED talks, real research and a hot ticket, secret location alternate night out. This is experiment as experience. It’s where you come to better understand yourself. Ticket holders are invited to step into uncertainty and experience the process of seeing themselves see - an exploration of human perception, and oneself.

Visual illusions, electro-swing synchronicity, power manipulations, and an exciting new study into group action from UCL’s Eye Think Lab are all on the cards, plus a few surprises.

Lottolab Studio is the world’s first public perception research space, led by Dr Beau Lotto, reader in neuroscience at University College London. Perception underpins everything that we feel, think and believe. It is the source of all artistic expression and scientific exploration. What we perceive IS who we are.

Central to our ethos is the inclusion of the public at the centre of the process of discovery, which brings with it, not only new scientific insights, but also the potential for personal and social transformation. The universality of perception gives us at Lottolab the freedom – and logic – to work outside the contrived boundaries between people, disciplines and institutions, and has enabled and inspired us to locate our lab previously within London’s Science Museum, and now, in a Victorian prison in Clerkenwell – uniting science, the arts and education in one space.
