After leaving Leeds College of Music with a BA Hons degree in Jazz studies and the College Award for Outstanding Performance, pianist Rob Barron moved to London where he completed his Masters in Music performance with Distinction from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since then he has been a mainstay of the jazz and studio scene, including work with US jazz stars Bob Mintzer, Phil Woods, Benny Golson and Curtis Fuller, leading UK musicians Tim Garland, Soweto Kinch, Nigel Hitchcock, Jean Toussaint and the award-winning Kairos 4tet as well as the likes of Bryan Adams, The BBC Big Band, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Vanessa Mae, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Paloma Faith, English National Ballet and Jamelia. A fluent and creative player Rob is considered to be one of the most talented pianists of his generation. A regular at the Club with various artists it is with great pleasure that we welcome Rob tonight with his own quartet featuring Colin Oxley on guitar, Calum Gourlay on bass and Josh Morrison on drums. This promises to be a gig well worth catching.

“Excellent pianist……Rob Barron was particularly impressive” The Guardian
