YAYE DIB SABAR (West African Dance Company)

The 'Sabar' is a traditional drum of the Wolof people of Senegal. It is usually played with one hand and one stick. Sabar music and dance is an important part of Senegalese culture and is enjoyed at social gatherings and celebrations, political and sporting events and in the popular music scene.

ABDOULAYE SAMB with full band: MINNJIARABY
Afro jazz, Blues, Mbalax
Minnjiaraby is a band founded in 2001 by Abdulaye Samb, guitarist singer composer from Senegal. His original music is inspired by Fula and Mandinka cultures among many others. The name of the band means "The love of mixing", which expresses the richness of senegalese traditions and ethnies. The music has grown from Abdulaye's travels, collaborations and researches in Africa and Europe. He is now based in London where he's working on his first album.
