Saturday night means party night at Jump Jive and Shout the lively, fun, friendly, monthly jive night with retro diva and vinyl queen Dj Jen Jackson spinning some of the very best in pulsating, energy driven late 1940’s and 50’s rhythm and blues, jump jive, doo wop, boogie woogie, blues shouters and more – the roots of rock and roll, with all music played on vinyl the way they did it back then.

Join us as we celebrate some truly great names in early American dance music from greats such as: Louis Jordan, Wynonnie Harris, Etta James, Tiny Bradshaw, Ruth Brown, The Chords, Big Joe Turner, Ike Turner, Little Richard, The Chords and a host of others. Sizzlin' sounds that rocked the juke boxes, gin houses, fish fries and rent parties all over America. Dynamic music heard in fifties New Orleans, Chicago, Memphis and Harlem and even the Jamaican blues dances held in the basements, halls and domino clubs of Notting Hill in the fifties before the area became trendy and sort after and when almost every street had it’s own basement club.

There’s live music too from special guests Fever who will be kicking off the festivities with a red hot 1950’s rockabilly and rock n roll show. The temperature is sure to rise as Will Collins and the boys from Essex do what they do best i.e raising the roof, looking fantastic, and dressed head to toe in only the very best original American retro (vintage) threads. This band is in demand for all the best retro and vintage clubs, fairs, parties and events so bring your dancing shoes, get ready to party and let's give the boys a big London welcome as they take to the stage of Jump Jive and Shout for the first.

Expect a great night out at Jump Jive and Shout on the second Saturday of the month (closed for January).

Smart dress or 40’s, 50’s 60’s retro and vintage, or use films like The Girl Can’t Help it, Sapphire, Cadillac Records and Hairspray (either version) as your inspiration.
