Come and learn about life during the First World War by listening to authors, curators and history enthusiasts at London Transport Museum and visit the Museum’s special exhibition Goodbye Piccadilly - from Home front to Western Front for free as part of the event. The programme on the day reflects the themes of the Goodbye Piccadilly exhibition and helps bring to life the important social changes that took place during 1914 to 1918.

The symposium is part of a series of events for Year of the Bus and will interest anyone who also wishes to find out more about the impact of the First World War on the capital and beyond. Tickets also include entrance to the Museum galleries for one month following the event.

This one day event focuses on wartime and peacetime conditions in London and abroad, women’s role in London’s transport, and the role of the B-type bus on the Western Front. This symposium will allow attendees to delve deeper into the Goodbye Piccadilly exhibition and further explore its central themes.
