FILMPHONICS is a series of live score screenings that bridge the gap between sound and moving image, curating diverse nights that include silent films brought to life by live scores, special screenings of films about music, experimental collaborations and edgy live performances.

This month, London-based musician Igor Outkine will perform a live score to the silent Chaplin comedy 'Gold Rush' (1925) for an end of year special screening.

It is the middle of the Gold Rush, a Lone Prospector (Charlie Chaplin) searches the tundra for gold, but he finds more than gold, he finds love ... and an uproarious adventure that will forever change the lives of the people he meets.

Igor Outkine is an accordion player and singer; he performs as One Man Band on electronic midi accordion and as part of duo Mazaika with violinist Sarah Harrison. Igor's versatile repertoire consists of Russian folk and gypsy, classical and opera, tango and hot club jazz.

In his unique and fully improvised scores for silent films, he strives for organic synthesis of visual story and music.
