Come down to Borough Market on 14th December. Eco-chef Tom Hunt is to host Feast of the Seven fishes, an alternative Christmas banquet in partnership with Borough Market to highlight the problem of food wastage during the festive season.
The feast will be created using delicious and surplus ingredients that would otherwise have been thrown away for no good reason, including wonky vegetables, blemished fruits, foraged fresh produce from market traders and fish caught sustainably from healthy stocks.
The banquet, which is a traditional Italian meal usually served on Christmas Eve, will feature dishes like foraged salad of water-celery leaf, chervil and chickweed, and forgotten fish stew of pollock, coley and mussels with chervil.
50% of the profits from ticket sales for this event will be donated to food waste charity, FoodSave.
