On Friday December 5 Monty Python’s Terry Jones will be presenting the 90s comedy classic Groundhog Day as part of the Phoenix Nights series at the Phoenix Cinema.

Terry Jones
Terry Jones is a writer, film director and performer, best known for his television and film work with Monty Python’s Flying Circus. He has co-directed Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and directed The Life of Brian, The Meaning of Life, Erik the Viking and The Wind in the Willows. He had three books published in 2011: Animal Tales, Trouble on the Heath, and Evil Machines.

He is currently working on a new film, Absolutely Anything starring Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale, a documentary about the Economy (the Crash 2008) and (with Jim Steinman) a musical version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.

Groundhog Day
Hailed by the Guardian as being ‘the perfect comedy’, Harold Ramis’s (Ghostbusters, Animal House) Groundhog Day is a mad and brilliant comedy. It's quite possibly Bill Murray's best role in a career defined by playing men who are suspicious of joy and a maybe little smarter than those around them.

Details
Groundhog Day (1993). Dir. Harold Ramis. With Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott and Stephen Tobolowsky.
