Some Like It Hot (1959)
Directed by Billy Wilder
Listed as the greatest American comedy film of all time by the American Film Institute, Some Like It Hot is known for its hilarious comedy antics and wild absurdity.
The film follows two idiot musicians (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) who, after witnessing the St Valentine's Day Massacre, struggle to escape the gangsters by dressing up in drag and joining an all-girl band. Comic complications aplenty ensue when Tony Curtis - now a pouting woman - strives to express his lust for Marilyn Monroe, while Jack Lemmon - equally high-voiced - is being pursued by an amorous, love-struck Joe E Brown who has one of the funniest - and most iconic - final punch-lines in screen comedy.
Some Like It Hot is one of the most hilarious, raucous films ever made and remains an all-time satirical, comedy farce favourite with all ages.
