Add something extra special to Valentine's day this year, with a quick introduction to hand lettering designed to bring add some extra romance and elegance to your cards and love letters.

Moving away from the formal traditional lettering you’d find on the bottom of a certificate, you'll work with a dip ink pen to learn basic letter formation and then using your new skills to make a unique Valentine's card or letter to take home with you.

We will inspire you with quotes from the greats, stories of star-crossed lovers and lyrics from the ultimate power ballads!

Popular in contemporary design, wedding stationery and advertising, stylised hand lettering continues to be a unique form of expression in a digital world full of screens.

Taught by Rebecca Cahill Roots, stationery designer and Creative Director of Betty Etiquette, Creative Calligraphy is a fun and accessible introductory session that will help you find your own creative style. We keep group sizes small to guarantee one-on-one support while you learn your new craft. It doesn't matter whether you're a budding Picasso, a complete beginner or feel you don't have a creative bone in your body - we promise you'll have a great time and leave with some examples of your handy work!

All equipment will be provided so you don't need to bring anything with you. The cost of the session includes all materials plus some nibbles to keep your creative juices flowing. And power ballads! Make sure you wear sleeves that you can roll back.

About Us:
Betty Etiquette is a London based stationery brand and design studio creating greetings cards and stationery that celebrate the power of putting pen to paper.

Lost behind screens in our increasingly digital world, Betty Etiquette evokes the pleasure of sending and receiving handwritten correspondence. We encourage you to tell your story and create something lasting - the heirlooms of tomorrow.

Established in 2013 by wife and husband team, Rebecca & David Cahill Roots, Betty Etiquette's cards, stationery and prints feature Rebecca's unique typography and hand-drawn illustration.

Unashamedly romantic, sentimental and above all fun, Rebecca's designs are inspired by precious memories of cards and notes sent and received.

All of our products begin life as hand-drawn designs, which are then printed in the UK and assembled by hand in our south London studio. We use FSC-certified paper stock and work with environmentally responsible suppliers and printers.
