World renowned British artist Lee Hadwin is launching his first ever UK solo exhibition “ HYPNOS”. Lee, who is known globally as the “Sleep Artist” due to his unique ability to draw and paint in his sleep, has just returned back to the UK after a successful tour in China where he was met with great interest and support from the Chinese people and media.

After recent discussions Lee has agreed to be filmed by ITV for the exhibition as part of a programme looking into sleep, his art & life, highlighting the success Lee has had dealing with this unusual gift.

Lee has decided on launching his first UK solo exhibition with his new management team (Incandescent Artists) at world renown art dealer; Kevin Zuchowski-Morrison's new art gallery "RISEgallery" in Croydon. After Lee’s charity work in the past Incandescent Artists approached Kevin who recently set up ArtHalo (an award winning not-for-profit organisation that provides art intervention for vulnerable adults) because there would be synergy between the artist and gallery thus providing a unique insight to the artwork and the approach to exhibiting such works.

After the tragic events that hit Croydon back in 2011 with the fires and riots, there has seen a massive regeneration of the area, "Croydon is set be become a leading place for visual arts and culture and is currently undergoing a massive cultural renaissance" says Kevin Zuchowski-Morrision.

Lee Hadwin, who had no training and no inclination in his waking life to be an artist, has discovered his works have attracted more and more interest from galleries and collectors globally.

After years of criticism from the art world & art critics, Lee is finally becoming an artist in his own right. Now with interest from many galleries ,TV offers and a strong following from the art world and the general public he is finally finding a global demand for his works and life story

In many artistic works inspired by the Greek Mythology, Hypnos was represented as a gentle young man, the god of sleep, whose father was the deity of darkness Erebus and mother Nys, the deity of night. Hypnos was father himself to another powerful deity Morpheus, deity of dreams so it’s not hard to understand why he commanded such great power over the mortals and immortals alike.

As we draw to present day we are still perhaps no closer to understanding these fundamental elements of our lives. Be drawn into this deep unknown world by Lee Hadwin's work at his debut solo show HYPNOS.
