Tapestry Weaving Workshop

This exciting taster day tapestry workshop for adults is for all levels. Students can learn how to weave through the warps using woollen threads in mixed colours and will be able to play with subtle transitions in colour, learning how to hatch yarns together and create a shape.

Set in Gallery Two, students will be working among the exhibition Fleece and Fibre: The Making of the Large Tree Group Tapestry and can pull inspiration from the artwork on show. Students who attended the previous workshop will have the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques and the workshop will be tailored to the group.

Each student will work on a pre-warped tapestry frame supplied by the tutor. The following equipment will be provided:
Wooden tapestry frame (these are available to buy at the end of the class)
1x bobbin
1x G-clamp
Scissors
Warp and weft yarn
