On 19 January, Devonshire Square will host a collective of office choirs for a major performance and sing-along to help stave off the effects of Blue Monday. Taking centre stage will be a rendition of Happy, Pharrell William’s uplifting hit from 2014.

The event is taking place on the Monday of the last full week in January, which is often thought of as the most depressing day of the year. In recent years, it is also a catalyst for people to lift their spirits by giving to others, carrying out good deeds and random acts of kindness.

In keeping with the spirit of the day, the Devonshire Square event is being masterminded by Music in Offices, a leading provider of office choirs and instrumental tuition, with a musical programme aimed at combatting Blue Monday doldrums.

Choirs from a host of well-known companies and locations – including Devonshire Square, Berwin Leighton Paisner, BNP Paribas, The Daily Telegraph, Royal Academy of Arts, Jones Day and Selfridges.

Members of the public will then be asked to join in the singing with a workshop co-ordinated by Music in Offices. City workers and tourists alike will be encouraged to pick up a song lyric sheet and join in the fun.

Devonshire Square’s Blue Monday will help to raise money for mental health charity Mind by collecting donations, to help them support those who are struggling with mental health issues.
