True relaxation is “a state in which there is no movement,
no effort and the mind is quiet.”
– judith hanson lasater

In the modern world, we live in constant state of ‘stress’ as life demands more from us. It is important to allow the body to activity relax, so that we balance our nervous system and cope with the world around us. Restorative yoga, is the active practice of relaxation. It triggers our parasympathetic nervous system, which allows our body to relax, heal and find wellness.

In restorative yoga, we use props (blankets, bolsters, blocks) to fully support and hold the body in positions that are enjoyed for up to 20 minutes. This allows for the mind to move away from the body, so that the physical body is allowed to release layers of tension and restore.

In this workshop, jennifer will guide you through a series of restorative poses, with a focus on relaxing and rejuvenate the body and mind. She will discuss how you can set up and recreate the same postures at home. There will be a focus on breathing, mindfulness and a deep guided relaxation.

about the teacher:

Jennifer hails from vancouver, canada, and has recently moved back to the uk with her husband and their two beagles. She is excited to share the gift of yoga, and her passion for wellness with others. Her intention is to encourage, through mindful movements and gentle breathing, the connection between body, spirit and mind with a sense of stillness, fun and appreciation. She opens her heart, to allow others to explore themselves with compassion. While on the mat, she opens the door and holds the space for students to have a conversation with themselves and to feel the asana from the inside out, so they can expand their bodies and minds and accomplish their wildest dreams.
