UK duo Pumajaw present Song Noir, the critically-acclaimed spine tingling song-cycle, born deep in the twilight zone of film noir and cult TV.

Using voice, electronic soundscapes and magical, animated film collages, Song Noir walks the blurred line between reality and illusion, leading the audience through a mind bending, audiovisual maze.

The timeless themes of social alienation, danger and seduction are explored through classic songs from films – including Twin Peaks, The Night of the Hunter and Kiss Me Deadly – and Pumajaw’s original music, composed of ‘found sounds’, guitar and a voice that is thrillingly world-class. In Song Noir, music, film, technology and theatre combine to create a groundbreaking performance beyond genres.

Pumajaw is a musical duo of singer-songwriter Pinkie Maclure and sound designer/musician John Wills, who have written and recorded 7 albums together since 2000, touring nationally and internationally. Pinkie trained with avant-garde singer Linda Hirst, Clifford Jarvis (Sun Ra) and John was a longterm member of 80s psychedelic art rock band Loop.

Song Noir was created by the duo as a reaction against the artistically stifling conventions of the live ‘indie’ music circuit, enabling the duo to create an undefinable world of their own through music, theatre and film.
