"One disastrous day has shattered my whole life, turned my pride to shame, my happiness to horror."

High above the city of Thebes, all the women of the town are running wild. Their jubilant, drug-induced frenzy is orchestrated by the god, Dionysus, who seeks revenge upon Pentheus, King of Thebes disguised as a foreigner. Pentheus must end this anarchy and restore order, but soon finds himself irresistibly drawn towards the charming stranger and the blind intoxication of the revels.

Chris Vervain Theatre's new production of Euripides’ classic tragedy combines modern techniques with traditional styles, featuring live music and dance. The show also features beautiful hand-crafted custom made masks inspired by ancient Greek examples, creating an exciting and authentic experience.
