21st Century Women – CoolTan Arts Women’s Day

Come along to a fun, free Women’s Day celebration at CoolTan Arts on Wednesday 4th March.

There will be four free workshops, discussions, and wellbeing-promoting activities as well as an exclusive art exhibition and short film screening.

Join us to celebrate the achievements of women and explore what it means to be a 21st Century Woman, and what we can do to improve the wellbeing of both ourselves and womankind as a whole.

Free Workshops from 1pm – 5.30pm:

Women and Mental Health – A talk exploring the effect gender has on mental health.

Exercise and Wellbeing Session – – A fun exercise class run by one of our energetic volunteers!

Stitch & Switch – Craft and technology session – A craft workshop where you can try a variety of crafts, from t-shirt printing to knitting both traditional and with more modern and experimental materials. Learn how to make clothes with circuitry in!

Discussion and Film – What does it mean to be a 21st Century Woman – debate, share ideas and check out CoolTan’s latest film which will explore 21st Century Feminism from a local perspective.

Workshops are free, informal and run on a drop in basis. No need to pre book. Open to all genders, all welcome!

Art Exhibition Opening 6-9pm:

Stay on for the opening of our new exhibition for International Women’s Day ‘21st Century Women. The evening will include poetry and an open mic for performances.

International Women’s Day is recognised by the United Nations and is celebrated by many countries across the world. Since 1911 it has honoured the social and political achievements of women.
