Tonight East London superstar Jonny Woo will take you on a journey back to New York City to celebrate the music of Lou Reed with his revved-up rammed-up take on 1972's 'Transformer'.
Following the death of Reed in 2013, Jonny was inspired to make a show which featured album Transformer and revived the magic of Lou Reed. So he put together a rock band with Marc Hayward (lead guitar) and Gareth Tyler (drums) from The Dash, Fi McCluskey (lead vocals) , Marion Andrau (bass guitar) and cabaret starlet Pretty Miss Cairo (vocals / burlesque).
The show enjoyed a smash debut success at Suffolk's Latitude festival last summer, and so Rich Mix are proud to present the first London show of Jonny Woo's (TRANS)former!
With the roaring live band, cabaret sirens, dancers and guest vocalists this show brings to life and magnifies classics like 'Walk On The Wild Side', 'Perfect Day' and 'Satellite of Love', while conjuring theatrical reinventions of pieces like 'Make Up' and 'Goodnight Ladies', as well as showcasing some Velvet Underground toppers.
Now this project comes to London for its first outing.
A wild wagon wheel of a night showcasing a unique ensemble that only Jonny Woo could put together, don't miss this perfect evening.
