Gavin Watson : Flock & Stock

The gallery is delighted to introduce Flock & Stock, an exhibition of new paintings by Gavin Watson. Previously represented by Cricket Hill Gallery, New York, this is Gavin's first solo show in the UK for over 20 years.

The exhibition’s recurring motif of animals enclosed within a domestic setting is inspired by the Bastle towers of rural Northumberland, where Gavin lives and works. At many points within the region’s turbulent history these fortified towers provided shelter for both beast and man, an image which is playfully yet thoughtfully explored here.
