The second installment in our Ballads series brings together four hugely talented folk musicians. Alasdair, Lisa, Kris and Naomi will deliver a show inspired by research carried out in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library (VWML) and their own knowledge and respective experiences, exploring the ballad traditions of England and Scotland.

Alasdair Roberts and Kris Drever are both at the frontline of Scottish folk. A highly successful solo artist, Alasdair is also a member of The Furrow Collective, while Kris is a member of award-winning band Lau. Lisa Knapp is no stranger to Cecil Sharp House having performed and taught here regularly; Lisa won the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Original Song. Naomi Bedford has an intriguing musical history of folk and rock with her latest album, A History of Insolence receiving high praise.

Promoted by the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) in association with Songlines Magazine.
