Sir Edmund Hillary Memorial Lecture

2015 is the 60th Anniversary of the first ascent of the world's third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga (8586m), climbed by George Band and Joe Brown. In 1979 Doug Scott added Kanchenjunga to his long list of mountaineering achievements. To help us celebrate the 60th anniversary, Doug will recount his own experiences on the mountain.

The Himalayan Trust UK is very much involved in the educational development of this remote corner of Nepal, and this event is a major fundraiser for the continuation of this work, and to help us start a programme of improving health provision.
