Bastards with Marcus Marr (DFA Records)

Spring is in the air! Bastards is back at the Eagle and this time we’re pleased to have Marcus Marr from the DFA Records stable spinning for us, hot on the heels of his red hot release ‘Brown Sauce’ which is being played by every credible DJ under the sun!

Marcus is a talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose inspirations include David Bowie and Prince. A music obsessive all his life, Marcus' first encounters with dance music were acid house records which augmented his vinyl collection of rock and soul, and attending all night parties under Brixton's St Matthews church. Traveling to the south of England to watch DJ Harvey play a lengthy set, he was opened up to what an adventurous DJ could do to a willing crowd.

Playing all of the EU and in the US, Marr aims to show the scope of his influences from house and disco, peppering his sets with new, unreleased grooves and his own personal edits of classic material.

As always Bastards residents Lucious Flajore and Wes dB will be playing their bizarre beats and wonky dancefloor weapons!
