Live poetry and spoken word featuring two special guests, and an open mic slam session! There are 8 places on the door, first come, first served. Judged by randomly selected members of the audience, the winner goes through to Hackney regional final.
This month features Simon Mole who describes himself as "the poet from the pub, that rapper from the beach, the friendly guy with the big eyes who told that story", and Hala Ali. From Saudi Arabia, though brought up in London, Hala's work as a performance poet speaks to ideas of female invisibility, militancy and social dogmas. She started out as a visual artist but abandoned the practice due to discontentment with the Art World.
Featuring: Simon Mole, Hala Ali, and hosted by Paula Varjack and Sam Berkson.
