Great Big Kiss Soul Club

An excellent line-up of DJs this month, featuring the very welcome return of Gary Day. Gary's DJ-ed at Great Big Kiss several times now and always turns in a superb set of soul and r&b. As well as DJ-ing, Gary's also an acclaimed musician, having played bass on three classic Morrissey albums.

We're also very pleased to have Sarina Reuben playing an early doors set for us. Sarina's the resident DJ of Camden's Modfather shop, and has DJ-ed at Crawdaddy, The State We're In and all over the UK at March Of The Mods events.

A few minutes walk from Oxford Circus tube station, The Phoenix is a wonderful basement bar that's hosted soul and mod nights for the last 30 years. It's a touch bigger than our old home at the Buffalo Bar (so there'll be a bit more room to dance), has a lovely wooden dancefloor, a great sound system, and a bar serving pints at pub prices.

'This monthly club night celebrates the sounds of the Sixties, playing a variety of music genres including soul, Motown and pop, all on vinyl. Some dress in vintage to match the theme, but everyone is there for the music. The homely basement makes this event feel like an authentic 60s night out. You have to be serious about your Sixties and register as a member to get in.' - High Life magazine
