Who wouldn’t want to fly without the help of machines? But what for? To see things we are not supposed to see? To look at the earth from above like the gods? To sneak behind closed doors where things happen that are none of our business? Are we all natural-born spies? Author Toby Litt (cult comic Dead Boy Detectives and numerous novels), will give us his insights on the topic of flying and why it is needed in good fiction. He will be accompanied by UCL historians Thibaut Maus de Rolley (an expert on Renaissance flights to the moon) and Zoltán Biedermann (who likes to think about the power of maps). Join us for an evening of uncanny revelation, speculations and confessions. Bring your own stories – and enjoy the flight!
