My Shadow, My Friend - Exhibition Of The Slovak Contemporary Artist

Olga Pastekova (1984) is an artist from Bratislava, Slovakia. She studied painting in Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Wien. She is involved in different exhibitions, projects in Slovakia, Czech republic and Austria. Her paintings are included in
collections of international galleries.

At the exhibition, Olga is presenting selection of her latest works, so-called „black and white period“ (2008 – 2014).

It is an exhibition full of dogs, ghosts, phantoms and shadows who came to life. She finds shadows more interesting than their wearers. They are curved, ephemeral, untouchable... And she wants to catch and fix them. It seems that the time has stopped. It is amazing how many shades of grey do exist. There are silhouettes of shadow play in her pictures.
